Paul Bäumer, Adjutant

Birth:  1964

Date Enlisted: 16 Feb, 2003

Country:  USA

Time Zone:  Pacific

Favorite Machine:  What else but an Albatros D.V!!

Biography/personal description:

Born and raised on the West Coast, I enjoy racing sailboats, playing golf and fly fishing.  I am blessed to be married to a wonderful wife who (so far!) is accepting of this obsession with flying WWI machines online.  She is even open to climbing into the cockpit on a few occasions.  I am an administrator as well as a business entrepreneur.

I came to RB3D in early 2003, when I started searching for an online multi-player WWI flight sim to play.  I figured there must be one.  I was fortunate to stumble across links to the Red Baron 3D community.  Then I was even more fortunate to purchase one of the last remaining original, brand new boxed CD sets of RB3D with a manual included.

My interest in RB3D probably goes back to my high school years when I got involved in Role Playing Games. While painting small lead (gasp) dwarves and dragons, I began painting small lead models of WWI planes for use in WWI board games which my neighbor friend and I played.  Remember "Wings" and "Dawn Patrol"?  I recently found one of these small painted planes made out of lead.  It is an Albatros D.V.  Would you believe that the paint scheme I painted on it some 20+ years ago is none other than the paint scheme of a Green Tail of Jasta 5!!

Go figure!
