The Knight's Cross of the Military Order of Maximilian-Joseph was bestowed upon Bavarian soldiers for bravery in combat. A knighthood entitled the recipient to a lifelong pension and the right to append "Ritter von" to his surname. This medal was awarded in recognition of the 50th aerial victory, obtained during War Forces V Campaign.
