I borrowed a crate from an unknown pilot and deserted my SP mission. I was curious what these neoqb guys had done with Boistrancourt. I took off from Boncourt and headed northwest to Saint-Quentin, C2-10.

Once over Saint-Quentin all I had to do was turn straight north and keep that river on my left. Actually and extremely coincidentally it is the upper Escaut, which becomes De Schelde in Belgium and which made Antwerp one of the biggest harbours in Europe. And where I was born.

I flew straight to it.

And it seems Neoqb put down the real thing at Boistrancourt. Apart from the town, the villa and the sugarfactory. Spooky ! All dromes look alike, but Boistrancourt looks like the real thing. They even put die Schutzbauten in front of the hangars ! Surprised

But nobody was home. Guess they were all out buying paint to put the numbers on the hangars.....

Rumor has it that Herr Kaiser is planning a trip to Boistrancourt soon (the physical one!). Here's hoping he takes lots of pictures.

For those of you who have never noticed this, here is another trip there a few years ago. It will be interesting to see how it has changed.

I've been planning on going there myself actually. It's only an hour and half away from my door. I've been meaning to go to Voss's crash site as well. The farm next to which he crashed is still there: Plum farm. But I'm a bit reluctant. Afraid I'll break down and cry. If you believe me. Wink
No, I think I actually might. All things war make me cry.

Salute!

I plan a trip to Paris with my wife and our folding camper on June 3-6 this year.
On my way home on June 6th, I will make a short detour via Cambrai to Boistrancourt if weather is not too bad.

Wilhelm

Wonderbar, Kaiser. Please share your pix with us. It will be great to see what it looks like again.
