Some shots of me at Rhinebeck Aerodrome in NY

Unread post by J5_Wolf » 08 Mar 2012, 04:46

This was a lot of fun, I took a day trip with my wifenfuror (WIFE) and was totally shocked that we were the only people there, so the crew that worked there let us go where ever we wanted....Here's some pics of that trip.

Yeah I know right. I wish I could have sat in it. That Albie was flying right up until 2 years ago when the founder and owner of the Rhinebeck field passed away. Now it just sits in that old hanger. Such a shame to see all of these old birds just sitting here rotting away. I wish I had the money to preserve all of them in flying condition, But I have 1st dibbs on that Albie......

Wow, are those birds in flying condition ? It would be amazing if we (not limited to us or Jasta 5) but the community as a whole could get together and sponsor those aircraft to keep them flying.

Yes they do have working aircrat here. The DVII and the Fokker DRI and the Spad and Sopwirth Camel are working, there is an Albatros too, but I think another person owns it and flies it in for the summertime.
