This summer it is time to go plunder again. Me and my brother are making shields. Most people would use plywood.... hahaha plywood whats that. Try some northern Fir. Planked shields 12 mm in the centre tapering to 8 at the edge. Covered with linen and rabbit skin glue. The canvas really holds the planks in place, and bends the shield alarmingly  while drying. Hence the weighing down. Will update as we get further.

This is done! Finally finishing up other projects to, keep an eye on this space. I know excaust is on the wrong side, use photo as ref and mirrored it. Couldn't be bothered to change it as I like the shadow it makes.

Fighting practise in full kit, others dont do this. But I feel I need to as it is quite heavy. Good new is it works.

A little game practising peripheral vision and speed.

Another one done, kind of. A bit of glare in the photo. Will take another once it is varnished and so on. Also some small fixes to do. Jagstaffel 5 on patrol late summer/ early autumn 1918. Flak bursting all around. Pilots are from left to right. Leicht, Vollbracht, Mai, Böhm and Schmidt. Leicht and Vollbracht are flying fokker built DVII's. Böhm an albatros built one. And finally Mai's and Schmidt's are OAW built. I paint this type of aircraft mainly because of the colour and individuality displayed by the pilots. Various media and references. Fished in Old Holland Classic Colours.
