vonHippels Model Hangar

Unread post by J5_vonHippel » 14 Apr 2013, 18:54

Here are some pics from the IPMS contest in Dayton this Saturday.I was disappointed with the lack of WW1 aircraft it seems that the combnation of wood effects alignment issues and rigging scares off a lot of modellers.

For some reason I find this one especially impressive. Nice shots Von H. Did you enter with a model of your own?

I had two car models at the contest. The Nisssan GT-R won first in its class and the Aston Martin DBS did not place.I now have the WNW Albie D.V on my workbench. The BE 12b is the Roden 1/48th scale kit it was built by the same gentleman that built the Rumpler and the Dove.It was stunning and won best aircraft of the show my poor photography does not do the model justice. The Bf110 and M1A1 were well done 1/72nd scale models that caught my eye.

Nice von H! Right now I am building this this kit http://hogges-modellbygge.blogspot.de/2 ... -vasa.html quite simple build and paint, but the rigging is going to kick my butt I am sure.

You don't need a kingdom, B. Decals will do just fine.

~S~ all,
I thought i'd just post a couple of pic's of some models i make a long time ago. The pic of the camel's cockpit isn't very clear, you are supposed to see the instruments which i painted by hand with a brush with only 1 bristle on it :)

The Camel and N17 are both 1/32 and the Dr1 is 1/28, they are all fully rigged but thats not so clear in these pics
