Re: Willkommen, Rekruit!
Salute Liebe Herren!
Some of you already met me, I've been around since the last summer. I was born in the late 70's in Poland and been an aviation (WWI in particular) fan since high school - hence the nickname some of my friends bestowed upon me ages ago - Baron.
Thank you for accepting my request for this probatory period and I hope you'll find me a valuable addon to this fine squadron!

Re: Willkommen, Rekruit!
Good day, fellow pilots, I’m making my initial post as a new recruit:
I’ve been interested in WW1 aviation since the days of Blue Max and Dawn Patrol board games. We would play using actual scale models in place of the cardboard tokens. I have flown Red Baron and Rise of Flight but never consistently enough. I was looking forward to the career mode in IL2 Flying Circus but was disappointed in the AI flight model, so I decided to check out the multiplayer servers. I started with the Knights of the Sky server and enjoyed all the various mission types, but it seemed like it wasn’t always very active, so I went to the Flugpark server. That was a bit of a learning curve, flying solo and getting shot down without notice from both AI and human pilots. I started looking for a group to join, hoping for some tips and training, and saw that J5 pilots were very active. J5_Sturm was one of the first members I started talking to and flying with, and have since been flying with Matthias, Daedallus, Mai and Josef_Tabone -all have been very helpful.
I have the majority of online hours in the Fokker Dr1 and have finally begun to hold my own and win some in a dogfight with a human pilot. A distant second is the Albatros Dva, but I like the stability as I’m starting to get more experience attacking ground targets.
Pb is short for Pharmboy because I’m a pharmacist and live in NE Indiana near farm country – not because I’m usually shot full of lead. But, because that is true also, the atomic symbol for lead has become my new avatar.
Looking forward to next steps with Jasta 5,
Andrew/Drew/PbDrew
